About this model

Nike dates its modern trail line to 2014, and the Wildhorse and the Kiger are the two models it was built on. The tenth Wildhorse arrived in April 2025, a decade into the line. Nike put it in its rugged trail category and built it for anything from short loops near home to steep, technical 100 km races.

The main update is the foam. Nike moved the Wildhorse from React to ReactX, which it says returns 13% more energy and cuts the midsole's carbon footprint by at least 43%. The stack is 3 mm taller, yet the shoe is 35 grams lighter than before. A rock shield guards the forefoot and the toe protection was updated. The collar is shaped to keep trail debris out. The upper is engineered mesh with open holes for air. Nike says the All-Terrain Compound outsole, a mix of wet-traction and high-abrasion rubber with 4 mm lugs, grips on steep climbs and in the wet but stays smooth on the road. Nike lists about 311 grams for a men's UK 9 (US 10) and a 9.5 mm drop.

Wearers who voted on sizing say it fits true to size, and the testers measured a toe box of average width. They found the lugs shallow and see it as a shoe for light to moderate trails and runs from the front door. It felt best to them on easy trails and long runs. Their complaints were the weight and an upper mesh that got the lowest score in their abrasion test.

How this works

  1. The supplier page shows a completely different product, and that is normal. What arrives is what is photographed here.
  2. There are 2 colours. At the supplier you pick them by a code, not by the photo.
  3. You pay at the supplier. The order, the payment and the delivery are with him, not with us.

Which colour, which code

At the supplier, colours are codes rather than pictures. On this photo he has written the code next to each colour. Find yours, and that is the code to choose.
