About this model
The Zegama line began in 2022 as Nike's first trail shoe with ZoomX, the foam from road racing shoes like the Alphafly. It takes its name from the Zegama-Aizkorri mountain race in Spain. In 2025 Nike renamed its trail team the All Conditions Racing Department, and the third Zegama moved under ACG as the ACG Zegama Trail, out in 2026. Nike says 22 elite trail athletes from eight countries tested it, many for up to eight weeks.
Underfoot there are two foams. Nike says the updated midsole puts more ZoomX directly under the foot, with a layer of Cushlon 3.0 below it for impact protection and stability on uneven ground. One review lists a 38 mm heel and 34 mm forefoot stack with a slight rocker, and Nike quotes a 4 mm drop. The outsole is Vibram Megagrip, with a revised lug pattern and rubber placed only where it is needed.
Fit changed too. Nike moved to a new trail-specific last with more room in the forefoot and toe box, so toes can splay on rough ground, and added padding at the tongue and heel. A stretchy ankle cuff works as a gaiter against stones and grit. Nike puts the weight at about 338 grams in a men's US 10 and says it runs mostly true to size, with sizing up suggested for extra room or wide feet. One reviewer found it noticeably roomier than earlier Zegamas, though the width felt about the same.
