On calls the Cloud its most established and recognisable line. The first one appeared in 2014, billed as the lightest fully cushioned running shoe, and won a Gold Award at ISPO the next year. The Cloud 6 launched on 12 March 2025 as On's all-day signature shoe, and RunRepeat tested it as a walking shoe.

Outside, it barely differs from the Cloud 5, and RunRepeat called the two nearly identical. On reworked the geometry for more cushioning and stability and says it also reduces pronation. Underneath there are more Clouds and updated rubber pods for grip. Cushioning comes from Zero-Gravity CloudTec paired with a Speedboard. On says at least 36% of the fossil-based content in the EVA of its Helion foam is replaced with renewable feedstock such as waste cooking oil. A new sockliner and a wider opening make it easier to step in.

The elastic speed laces never need tying, and for a tighter hold On suggests retying the knots at the ends. On lists 267 grams and an 8 mm drop. RunRepeat weighed a men's US 9 at 274 grams and measured a 28.3 mm heel, lower than the average walking shoe it has tested. Owners voting there call it true to size, as On does, and the lab found the forefoot slightly wider than average. The review's main reservation is support for whole days of standing and walking, but for travel and commuting it rated the shoe very highly.
