ASICS unveiled the Superblast 3 on February 13, 2026, as the third version of the tall, plate-free trainer it first released in 2022. The main change is the foam. FF LEAP, the foam ASICS also uses in its METASPEED racing shoes, replaces the FF TURBO PLUS of the Superblast 2, and ASICS says it is 33 percent lighter and 13 percent more responsive than FF BLAST.

The midsole has two layers, FF LEAP on top and FF BLAST PLUS below, for 46.5 mm under the heel and 38.5 mm under the forefoot, an 8 mm drop. A redesigned trampoline-shaped pod under the forefoot is meant to add spring at toe-off, and the outsole uses ASICSGRIP rubber up front with AHAR LO at the heel. ASICS lists 239 grams, which Doctors of Running gives for a men's US 9. That is about 10 grams less than the Superblast 2. Doctors of Running got the most out of it on long runs and uptempo efforts.

The upper is an engineered woven fabric with a new eyestay for midfoot support and a gusseted tongue, which ASICS says reduces tongue slide. ASICS also put recycled polyester in the upper and bio-based materials in the midsole. RunRepeat and Doctors of Running agree that it runs true to size. Doctors of Running felt more room in the toe box than in the Superblast 2, though RunRepeat still measured the toe box as narrower than its lab average.
